The Buffalo Bills roster is looking like it’s in pretty good shape. Buffalo’s front office has brought in several players via free agency and through the 2022 NFL draft to fill specified concerns on the roster.
Still, it’s not the absolute perfect roster, and it’s not out of the range of possibilities that the Bills could bring in some more players to create competition and add to depth ahead of their summer activities.
With that, here are four positions that the Bills could add a veteran player later this offseason.

Buffalo has had one of the best safety tandems over the past five years. Miah Hyde and Jordan Poyer have been nothing less than sensational during their time in Western New York. They have been arguably the key to the success of the Bills defense during the Sean McDermott era.
However, the not-so-subtle rumbles of Poyer wanting a new contract creates a possible issue with the secondary unit. There isn’t a great deal of experience behind Poyer and Hyde, leaving a massive void if one of the starting safeties were to miss substantial time.
The Bills seem to have a solid starting offensive line unit. The group gelled at the end of last year, contributing well to the ground game and providing protection for QB Josh Allen.
Incumbents Dion Dawkins, Spencer Brown, Mitch Morse, and Ryan Bates, along with free agent signing Rodger Saffold, should be one of the league’s stronger units. Where things get interesting is the depth chart.
The Bills brought in David Quessenberry via free agency and have former starters Ike Boettger and Cody Ford on the bench. However, Ford’s position is a bit tenuous, as he has struggled on the field over the past two seasons.
Buffalo hopes Ford can rebound and provide a reliable option off the bench, but the Bills find a cheap option who can provide a bit more than Ford. The Bills like its offensive linemen to have positional flexibility. However, depending on circumstances, the need to move people around may lead to issues with depth. Thus, a veteran can come in a complete for a spot.

Once again, this is a break-glass-in-case-of-emergency type of possible signing. Matt Milano and Tremaine Edmunds are going to see the majority of snaps.
Tyler Matekevich will be a special teams ace and third-round draft pick Terrel Bernard is in line to see some depth snaps as well. However, the Bills could benefit from having a veteran who can spell Edmunds in case he were to miss any sort of time on the field.
Tre’Davious White and Kaiir Elam will lead the way at the cornerback spots for the Bills. White, an All-Pro, is coming off an ACL tear, which will put him on track to be with the team in August. Elam, the Bills first-round pick in April’s draft, is highly touted and expected to step in immediately.
The Bills also have Cam Lewis and Dane Jackson in the fold as well, as both have played admirably when called up in the past. However, if there is any slip-up with Elam’s acclimation to the NFL or White’s injury recovery, it might be in the Bills best interest to have a bit more depth at the position.
